Winyah Bay Musical Arts (WBMA) is a nonprofit organization founded by Mary Ruth Ragland, Director of Choral and Orchestral Music. WBMA exists to present music programs of the highest quality to Georgetown County and the surrounding region, while expanding appreciation for chamber, vocal, and classical music.

Operating exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, WBMA brings together vocal soloists, orchestral musicians, instrumental ensembles, and the WBMA Chorale to create meaningful artistic experiences that enrich the cultural life of the community.

WBMA was established as an extension of Mary Ruth Ragland’s lifelong commitment to music education, performance, and community enrichment. After more than forty years of teaching and inspiring students in Georgetown County—and decades of leadership in choral and sacred music—she founded WBMA to ensure the community continues to experience high-quality musical programming while creating opportunities that inspire future generations.
